Student Representative: Pueblo Community College

Name: Samantha Digby, OTAS

What do you love about OT?

I love how versatile OT is; we can reach so many types of populations and communities within the same scope of practice. The holistic drive of OT keeps the treatment client-centered and occupation-oriented.

How did you choose this profession?

I chose to get into OT after watching some of my family members go through a variety of medical issues and seeing their quality of life decrease when they couldn’t participate fully. Once I knew that there was a job that could both prevent further harm and restore skills and occupations I was sold.

Why did you choose to become an OTAC student representative?

I chose to become an OTAC Representative because I know that the best way to see change in our field is to be as educated as possible and advocate for change.

What's your favorite thing to do in Colorado?

My favorite thing to do in Colorado is to paddle-board in the summer and snowboard in the winter.
